The book of Proverbs at first glance reads like a fortune cookie-esque list of dos and don’ts. But in reality, the book of Proverbs was written by a father to a son out of incredible love and desire for that son to live his best, healthiest life. A good father desires thriving in his children, and God, as a good father, desires for us to live wisely and well so that we can avoid unnecessary heartache, live securely, and avoid the pitfalls and trappings we are all so susceptible to.
