Merry Christmas

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Throughout history, there have been distinct before and after moments that seismically change society’s assumed trajectory. Often, we are reminded: before 9/11, we used to… before the smartphone, we… before COVID, we… These events and things mark a turning point, a moment in time when everything changed, even if we cannot foresee the event’s impact in its totality. Only time will tell. But we know, nothing will ever be the same again.
The greatest “nothing will ever be the same again” moment in history began with the most mundane of events—the cry of a newborn baby, delivered in an obscure setting to two ordinary humans. And yet, the announcement of His arrival was anything but mundane. Angels appeared to outcast shepherds, declaring that the moment had come: there was good news and great joy for all people!
Today, we celebrate the coming of the greatest gift ever given to all of humanity—Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World.
As you gather with family and friends, may you feel the very real presence of His Holy Spirit and possess uncontainable joy like that of the shepherds on the day when outsiders were declared insiders—when hope entered darkness, and we gained access to the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
Next Steps
In the following days, carve out time to identify just how God has shown up in the last year as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.
